The West of England is one of the UK’s most prosperous regions and we want to make it even better.
The West of England Combined Authority is made up of three of the local authorities in the region – Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Working with our partners including the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, North Somerset Council and other local service providers, our aim is to deliver economic growth for the region. On Thursday 4th May 2017 there will be an election to choose who will be the West of England Combined Authority Mayor.
The election will be held across Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire authorities. Read more
WHAT WE WILL DO
We are currently developing the vision for the West of England, to ensure our future is more productive and better connected.
This will include initiatives and measures to help sustainably grow our economy and tackle the barriers to growth. Read more
The Government recognises that the West of England is a very successful area. It is unique outside of London as being a net contributor to the UK economy. The overall aim of the West of England devolution deal aims to build on this success and deliver more growth for the local and national economy.
This deal will see more decisions being made locally on topics such as transport, housing and skills and could help to create more local jobs. Read more
